This year we are focusing our Giving Tuesday Campaign on “Ti 13èm mwa”… the 13th month salary. In Haiti, the 13th month salary, is a form of additional income that employers provide their employees during the holiday season, typically in December.
Each month Apparent Project staff salary costs are just over $13,000. We have additional operating expenses in Haiti each month, but we are focusing on the extra $13,000 needed for AP Haiti staff salaries.
I’ve asked our three AP Haiti leaders to share their thoughts on how this extra income will be spent. This year a huge focus is on basic living costs due to the extraordinary increase in food costs.
For the next 13 days leading up to Giving Tuesday, we will share 13 different ways that our Haitian Staff might spend their 13th month salaries.
