The guy in the line-up above wearing gray! Tougher than he looks! And quite a character!
Mackenson began working for Apparent Project as the “yard maintenance” guy. He showed up every day to clear the “yard” – the concrete area where kids play every day! It’s amazing how many leaves cover the area every day. Mackenson helps with lots of random tasks… including transporting heavy items like large bags of rice or batteries or the Culligan type water bottles. All those odd jobs that are so helpful, the ‘not so glorious” tasks that people don’t see. Mackenson is there for us.
Last September, Mackenson trained (along with the other security guards) to be a registered/certified security guard. It was quite amazing… watching him carry guys larger than himself… crawl across the concrete on his stomach while being doused with buckes of water, having another guard stand on his shoulders while preparing to climb a palm tree, or having a guy run across his stomach & stand on it. He is one tough little guy!
I don’t know Mackenson’s life story, but I’ve seen him climb palm trees, work hard “trimming” palm tree branches with a machete… and more! I’ve also seen him “play songs” with his hands to his mouth! (Sample short video clip included on Instagram!)
What a character!

English Version
I am working at Apparent Project. I like the job because it helps me and my family. Some people in my family can’t help themselves, so I need to help them. For example, I pay the rent for my mother because her husband can’t take care of her. Apparent Project helps me a lot. Without that job, I don’t know where I would be. Maybe I would live in the countryside and mow the land. I like what I’m doing, and enjoy it. I will always say thanks to Marilyn, my employer. There are some things that I’ve been able to do in my life because of Apparent Project. I’m asking God for Apparent Project to become bigger; I’m asking God to bless Apparent Project. May God bless you.
