Meeting Lovana
Lovana is a dedicated worker, a wife & mom of 3 beautiful kids! She was one of the original Childcare workers when it opened in 2014! She & Soumise work together as teachers of our 2-year-old preschool class. Her integrity, love of children & willingness to learn more skills make her a valued staff member!
But who is she?
Someone who sees an opportunity & goes after it! She was the first of our employees who saved enough money to buy a small piece of land. She & her husband were able to build a 2-room house. Its location up the hill past Petionville requires travel using tap-taps,, but she manages to bring all 3 kids with her to school each day! Very resourceful… willing to help others!
She obviously loves music & dance! She enthusiastically joins the kids. Her younger son was in her preschool class last year and has obviously inherited a love for music & dance! (Little boy in yellow shirt… jumping around in the IG video post – later today!)
Her firstborn son is now in 1st grade at AP elementary school. When Lovana was pregnant with him… the Zika virus was spreading across nations… including Haiti. We prayed for her baby who could have been affected by the virus. We were so grateful when he was born with NO affects from Zika! Smart kid!
Lovana also has a daughter! Princess Deborah! I love how the kids’ names show how valued they are!
Lovana Ioves God! She worships & prays with an obvious heart-felt connection to the One who loves her so! Recently, when I was in Haiti… sick with “something” … Pierre chose her & one other staff member to come to my room and pray for me. What a team! And, when they worship… the atmosphere becomes tangible with the Presence of God! What a blessing! (And I got better!)
Lovana’s Thoughts… I spent time asking questions of each staff member.
Are you happy working at Apparent Project? Yes. Why?
After God, AP is my life. With a job, I can help people.
What do you enjoy about your job?

What do you love/like about Haiti?
It’s my country!
More from Lovana…
Here is what Lovana said about the Apparent Project.
“All glory to God! Before I arrived at AP I was working in an orphanage. In 2009, I left there because I was offered a job making jewelry at the Apparent Project. So, I started rolling the tiny beads. From the beginning I could do it so well they double checked to be sure I was really the one rolling them. Soon after that they put me in charge of Quality Control and soon after that I was Manager of Metal Art. In 2014, I was asked to begin working at the new Apparent Project Daycare. I must say the day I started working for the Apparent Project, it was God who sent me. Because I was in need but for 13 years. Now I have been providing for myself. That is how it was. God had mercy on me even until now. I glorify Him for that.”
Lovana shares her heart for Apparent Project. (Instagram video post… later today.) @apparentprojecthaiti

English Version
I thank God first, then I thank Marilyn because God touched Marilyn’s heart so that she could set up this work. I can say that this work is my life. This job means a lot to me because without this job I wouldn’t be able to succeed. I am asking God to continue to bless this work, to bless Marilyn, to bless all sponsors who may come on our way. I am asking God to touch our hearts so that they will be able to bring more support for this work, Apparent Project, and so we too will be able to enjoy it, we will be able to continue working to be able to respond to our needs, the needs of our families, so that we can be more successful in our lives. I encourage all sponsors, all those who would like to sponsor this work. You came because God will not fail to bless you for this, and you will not regret it. Thank you
The ripple effects of you helping to serve our staff is exponential in the lives of the Haitian families that they are serving.
34 days to raise $400/month for 34 salaries! It’s not too hard. 34 people, 34 groups, 34 organizations… each catching the vision… providing $400/month for the next 12 months. A year’s commitment!
Together we can make a difference in Haiti!
