Happy Mother’s Day

A mother’s love for her child is what began the journey of Apparent Project. From the humble beginnings of an adoptive mother realizing that so many children in Haitian orphanages actually have living parents who love them, to praying for a way to help mothers keep their children.

The focus has grown organically over the years, beginning with making bracelets so moms could work to provide for their children, to adding childcare so her children would have a safe and nurturing environment while she worked. To beginning a school so the growing children have a quality education that builds character and leadership in addition to knowledge. And caring for the moms along the way through additional job skills training.

As mothers adapt to the needs of the child and grow as they grow, Apparent Project has grown, birthed other organizations and launched them to watch them grow and flourish. Such pride is felt when children succeed, and such pain is felt when they struggle. Apparent Project as an organization, and the staff as well, feel all of these emotions, these birthing and growing pains.

It is a joy and privilege to work alongside strong Haitian mothers who love their children fiercely and want only a better life for their children.

Motherhood is sacrifice and joy, beauty and brokenness. It is the perfect example of an intersection of the hardest hard and greatest joy. And we wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
