Progress, Growth! and our Future Goal!

Progress, Growth! and our Future Goal!

Apparent Project was birthed in the Heart of God! An opportunity to bring hope & a future for the poor in Haiti.

For about 5 years, Apparent Project had a laser focus on sales!

In 2009, Apparent Project began training Haitians to make jewelry, and started selling the jewelry in the States. When people are starving, they need food! The first agenda is to provide emergency assistance.  Then emergency assistance needs to evolve into an opportunity to create income – a means provide for themselves!

After the 2010 earthquake, sales of Haitian goods flourished. Everyone wanted to help Haiti & this was a means for Haitian artisans to earn money. Haitian metal art and other goods were also sold. Eventually, a separate legal Haitian production company was formed. AP continues to sell products made by artisans in Haiti… by those working in a production company & by metal workers in the area.

In early 2014, 10 years ago, the Apparent Project focus expanded!

It became obvious that Childcare was needed for children at risk so their parents could work.

In May 2014, AP Childcare started with a handful of infants and toddlers… and 4 nannies! The nannies treated the children well & kept them safe. But there was a potential to do more than just babysit!

AP Childcare in 2014!

This was also an opportunity to transform our nannies into well-trained childcare workers & teachers capable of providing nurture, motor skills development & more for these children!

In 2016, we felt that God wanted us to continue nurturing & training these children. What an opportunity to invest in their lives! Initially we had twelve 3&4-year old children in our AP Preschool!

In 2023, AP has 40 children enrolled in the Childcare & Preschool.

There is a waiting list but no more space available! We outgrew our 1st facility. We have 2 buildings now, but need more space again to be able to grow! We also need financial stability! More income! More donations!

The teachers have received excellent training in nurture & in age-appropriate & play-based teaching!

From 2016 through 2023, AP added a grade each year!

In 2023, we added 6th grade! We have 60 students in Kindergarten thru 6th grade! Most of our 6th graders & many other elementary school students have been enrolled at AP starting with our childcare! It’s a great opportunity to model Biblical character, teach Biblical truths, and provide a quality education! Note: We are now an officially certified Haitian school, certified through 9th grade!

Also, in 2014… 10 years ago! The Job Skills Program was created!

It has provided much needed computer & English skills. First it was offered to adults who needed these skills for work, then teens… and now AP elementary students are included in this training starting in 4th grade! Our students are learning the skills needed for further education and for a variety of jobs in the future.

The poor in Haiti generally have no access to the hands-on type training that we offer them!
Over 200+ Haitians have been trained!
Teaching elementary kids, teens & adults!

This program began in 2014 by training one Haitian… Pierre! He trained others. The result is a multiplication of people who have new computer & English skills. In addition, we now have a software engineer who has trained our two computer teachers in advanced software skills. Our plan is to train other Haitians in advanced computer skills.

In 2014, I trained Pierre… In 2022, Vince (software engineer) trained Pierre & Hacheley!

Each year we are challenged to believe for more! More space, more quality teachers, more finances! More! We are expanding! It is a faith-building adventure!

As we close out the year, please consider investing in the future of our Haitian friends & families with a final
year-end tax-deductible gift.

Chaos & oppression in Haiti block opportunities for the poor.

Apparent Project offers the quality education & job skills training needed to help the poor rise up out of poverty and become future leaders of integrity in Haiti.
