2023 January – Joy! and Sorrow!

2023 January – Joy! and Sorrow!

Good News!!!

After all the unrest & shortages this fall, we finally were authorized to start the school year January 9th. Everyone is thrilled to be back! Staff & students!! Parents, too! We’ve had two wonderful weeks at the AP Childcare & Schools!

These kids just have way too much fun!!!

Weekly worship, Bible teaching and Prayer time!

It’s great to be back!

However, we’ve had a heart wrenching set-back…

This past Thursday one of our AP Haiti staff passed away. Roselene was 8 months pregnant, and her baby was due in February. Instead, there will be a funeral this Friday. It’s extremely sad.  Both Roselene & the unborn baby died. The Apparent Project Haiti staff is like a family, and we are all grieving. I can’t be there, but my heart is with them.

She was hired in September of 2021 & gave birth to her son in October 2021. In the picture above, she is holding her newborn son. He is 15 months old now, and just lost his mom.

Roselene loved babies. She was a certified elementary school teacher but she preferred nurturing babies, watching them grow & change almost daily, and caring for their needs. That was her passion! She is pictured above with some of the babies she helped care for. She will be missed.

Thanks for prayers for Roselene’s family! Pray for her husband & her 15-month-old son. We we will continue to care for him at Apparent Project.

We are grateful for God’s faithfulness in the fun times & challenging times! Our Haitian family is intact! All 34 staff members love being part of the team. We work together & enjoy each other’s friendship. I remember when we were interviewing one of our current staff members who is our 5th grade teacher this year. He asked… “ Other than the salary… What are the benefits we offer?” We said, unfortunately we don’t have bonuses or insurance, etc. But… what we do have… is family! And, it’s true! We work together & help each other as needed. We are blessed!

Thank you for being part of our Apparent Project friends… and family!!! We appreciate you!

Blessings ~ Marilyn

Chaos & oppression in Haiti block opportunities for the poor.

Apparent Project offers the quality education & job skills training needed to help the poor rise up out of poverty and become future leaders of integrity in Haiti.
