Meeting Reginald

Meeting Reginald

Reginald is one of our guards. As you can see in the picture above, he went through our security guard training. It was no easy task to complete the course. But, Reg has strength of character, an excellent mind & is physically strong! He is a painter by trade but had difficulty finding work. (This is a common probelm in Haiti.) We are blessed to not only have a guard, we have someone who can paint for us!

Actually, it has taken me a while to get to know a little about who Reg actually is!  At AP he is quiet, and attentive to his job, making sure that everyone who comes in our gates is supposed to be there.  when heHe often seems very serious, but if you want a reliable & trustworthy person who is looking out for you, Reg is that guy!

He is a natural provider, & protector. Reg’s mom died  when he was 14, and Reg is the oldest of 8 children. Maybe that is where his leadership qualities began to develop.

If you watch him around the Apparent Project dogs, he will see his soft side! His kindness is not hidden, and the dogs see it, too! They love him! We are grateful to have Reg!

Reginald shares…

Why did you want to work at AP?  I needed a job to provide for my family.

Are you happy working at AP? Yes – VERY!!! Why? It helps everything in life! My son goes to school; the rent is paid; my brother & sisters are helped. My wife & baby have needs met.

What do you enjoy about your job? Being accountable/responsible for things. Also, education is offered. I like to learn.

What is your dream? As a man… to provide for my family and raise my kids right.

Tell me a little about your family. The oldest in his family of 6 boys and 2 girls. My mom died when I was 14 years old, but my dad is still living. I have a 13-year-old son from a previous marriage, and I’m married to Enose (who also works at AP). We have a 16 months old son!

What do you love/like about Haiti? Hahahahaha!! It’s my birth country. I would like to have some positive things happpen. I love the mountains!

Prayer requests… That his dreams become reality!

English Version

I thank the Boss. This is a great opportunity for me to stand in front of the camera and express myself.  In Apparent Project, I’m just happy with what’s going on here.  It provides opportunities for me. I can help my family, help myself and other people who don’t have the opportunity to help themselves.  It helps me be able to send my kids to school and provide my family, too.  I say a big thank you to the Boss, who is Marilyn, and I also thank Z. It’s because of him that I’m here.  I hope that God will help us so that we can move forward, and give the Boss possibilities to continue helping us, not only us, but also others who need help, too.  I’m very happy! We live as a family and always watch over each other. We always give each other advice.  I’m also very happy for the Boss. You’re here for us. We’re here for you too! We’ll help you, and we’ll do the job together.  Thanks!!!

Chaos & oppression in Haiti block opportunities for the poor.

Apparent Project offers the quality education & job skills training needed to help the poor rise up out of poverty and become future leaders of integrity in Haiti.
