Meeting Eltha

Meeting Eltha

Eltha! She was a surprise addition to our staff last year! A wonderful surprise!! A gift from God at exactly the right time. Each year, the week before school starts, teachers show up to set up their classrooms, get organized & ready for the school year, and to have fun together.

Surprise!!! Last year, during the preparation week, our kindergarten teacher announced that she had decided to attend university in France!! She was leaving Haiti the next week!

Another surprise! That same day, just after we were told that our kindergarten teacher was leaving, Eltha showed up with her resume in hand. She was looking for a teaching position, and had experience as an elementary teacher! Eltha was interviewed immediately. Our veteran teacher, Maguy, was impressed! So were the rest of us! We offered her a job, and she was able to start setting up her classroom immediately. The teacher who was leaving helped Eltha during that week. It was a smooth transition! Provision came exactly when we needed it!

This is just one of many times that we have “felt the endorsement of God!” We are grateful!

Eltha is a person of character. She is beautiful inside & out!
She loves the kids and loves God! She fits in so well with the staff and does a wonderful job teaching our 5-year-old students! When I watch her, I see joy & kindness. A gentle spirit!

So happy to have Eltha as part of the family.

Graduating from Kindergarten is a really big deal in Haiti! Here she is with her Graduating Class!

Video transcript – Eltha shares her heart about Apparent Project. (Instagram video post… later today.) @apparentprojecthaiti

English

I am Eltha Vertus.  I am a teacher at Apparent Project.  Apparent Project is a blessing for me, a place where I fit in.  Apparent Project is also a blessing for Haiti.  They find a way so that those who are lacking money can go to school.  What I like about Apparent Project is that the staff respects each person, and it doesn’t depend on what job each person is doing.  That’s what I like about it.  And they do not look at people based on their appearance.  They understand people, that each person has value.  They put everyone on their own level.  In Apparent Project it’s joy, happiness, love.  They give us love. When you come you feel like you are in a family.  I couldn’t find that where I was working before.  In Apparent Project everyone works together. It’s like a family.  It’s as if you knew the person 10 years ago.  I’ve been there for one year. It’s like I’ve been with them for 10 years.  We know each other well.  I like it very much in Apparent Project. Thank you.

Chaos & oppression in Haiti block opportunities for the poor.

Apparent Project offers the quality education & job skills training needed to help the poor rise up out of poverty and become future leaders of integrity in Haiti.
