God’s Faithfulness

God’s Faithfulness

God’s Faithfulness

Lord, give us this day our daily bread. We pray, we wait, we’re patient, we trust, we pray more. We even sometimes worry. When we feel like we’re about to give up – God shows up. God is faithful. God is Jehovah- Jireh.

As the pandemic swept the world, we were all frozen. For the US it meant that it was hard to get to the grocery store as we all scrambled to stock up on toilet paper. For Haiti, it was more serious and meant food was scarce. For the Apparent Project, it meant that the main source of funding through party box event sales came to a halt. The majority of the funding was stripped.

For Haiti it meant even more hardship – salaries could not be paid. Rice & beans were provided for the Apparent Project Haiti staff so they would not starve. In return, an abundant amount of grace was extended from the Haitians as they continued to work despite not being paid.

The AP team in the US remained on their knees. They fervently continued to pray, wait, be patient, trust and pray more. And even started to worry. Little did they know that God was at work as He often is. When things seem silent and prayers are not answered, God tends to be orchestrating in the background. Little did the US AP Staff know that there was someone out there who was also on their knees praying. Praying,  “Lord, use me.” “Lord, I want to get connected with Haiti because we are adopting.” “Lord, I want to visit Haiti but it is not easy to go.” “Lord, I desperately need more diversity and Haitian relationships in my life.” “Lord, How?”

And then it happened. God’s divine intervention and orchestration answered everyone’s prayers. The woman who was praying to help Haiti saw a post from a woman from AP who was selling Haitian made calendars to also help Haiti. Their worlds collided in a way only God can orchestrate. A calendar led to discussions which led to sharing what the Apparent Project was all about and what they needed which led to more and more answered prayers. The woman wanting to get involved in Haiti happened to have the exact skills needed by the AP staff – marketing. She also had connections for funding so that staff could be paid. In turn, she was able to have her prayers answered by becoming connected to Haiti. She was able to travel to Haiti six weeks after feeling like it was an impossible feat. Diversity and relationships in Haiti were made and we were all left in awe of God’s divine intervention and orchestration.

God is our provider. Jehovah-Jirah. We can trust in him always, even during a famine. We will often be reminded of this incredible story of provision as we continue to pray for the needs of the Apparent Project. We hope that this story will encourage you with whatever you may be facing. God is good ALL the time.
