Sponser a Child
Our neighborhood is full of amazing kids with great potential. Many of them have never had a chance to go to school. Where possible, we aspire to find artisan work for parents so that they can afford to send their children to school. Sometimes this is not an option, or the cost is too high for a large family to eat AND find an education for each of their children. For children in these circumstances we advocate for donors to help sponsor their educational journey.
How to do it:
By clicking on a student's photo to the right you will be guided to a secure PayPal payment page which will set up your automatic payment of $45/month. How these funds are used will depend on the child and the school that they choose to attend, but we will keep you informed about how these funds are being used. In most circumstances this will pay for about 2/3 of the costs for the student's tuition, supplies, school meals and uniform. The remainder will be paid for by the student or their family, usually through artisan work. This gives the students and families ownership of their education, a vital sense of dignity and responsibility, and makes sponsorship more affordable for you.
Please consider emailing us a little note for your sponsored child and a photo of yourself when you have completed payment for your sponsorship.
If you are interested in coming to teach a special short term class these are also very welcome and will benefit the larger community. Thanks for your help!
