#GivingTuesday – Can You Help The Apparent Project?

Black Friday

Small Business Saturday

Cyber Monday

#Giving Tuesday

Four days out of five.

And they are all about money.   On Black Friday, they want you to run around like a crazy person spending money.

On Small Business Saturday, they want you to go to Joe’s Bakery down the street and buy something to support small businesses.

On Cyber Monday, they want you to go on Amazon during your lunch break at work and buy more.

And then we all take a breath.

And look around.   It’s #GivingTuesday.    What’s that?   It’s a concerted effort to get people, after a weekend of purchasing to do some good for “others” and to donate to their favorite charity.

Typically millions and millions of dollars get donated on #GivingTuesday.  We’d love to have The Apparent Project be part of your giving – either tomorrow or at any time.  Go to https://apparentproject.org/donate/ to be a part of our team in that way.

But we’re going against the grain.  All of the rest of the non-profit organizations will be asking you for money on #GivingTuesday.

We’re not like other organizations.   Other organizations try to run orphanages and get vulnerable children into new families.   Worldwide it is estimated that over 3 out of every 4 children deemed to be an “orphan” actually has a family.   THEY.HAVE.A.FAMILY.

So what are we doing?   How are we going against the grain?   On #GivingTuesday, we want your help in two separate ways.   They both involve small amounts of time.

  1. We want to increase the number of people who “Like” The Apparent Project on Facebook to over 11,000.   That means that we need a little less than 600 people to like the Apparent Project on Facebook in 24 hours.   Can you go to The ApParent Project on Facebook and share it with your friends and ask them to like it and share it with other?
  2. We would like to get at least 500 people to share this blog post with 10 of their friends

Why are we asking for those goals rather than money?

Because The Apparent Project isn’t like other non-profit organizations.

And because we believe that by helping us spread the word about the work of The Apparent Project, you are helping more families in Haiti stay together.

Thanks for giving of your time and helping us help families in Haiti!

Tom
